Kimberly Anderson was born and raised in West Fargo, North Dakota. She attended North Dakota State University, where she studied architecture and English and served as an editor for The Spectrum. She transferred to the University of Iowa to study creative and nonfiction writing and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. While attending the University of Chicago Law School, she worked at the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic representing individuals committed to the state’s psychiatric hospital system via criminal proceedings.
Kimberly previously practiced law at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis, where her practice included representing clients in tax controversies, advising individuals and businesses on federal and state tax matters, and business entity formation and governance.
In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys reading, traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs. She has volunteered with the Volunteer Lawyers Network and the Zoom House transitional living facility in south Minneapolis.
